What Causes Burning Sensation Around A Wound After Applying Dettol?
The got torn skin wound. I applied dettol on my wound at night and slept. Next morning the whole area around the wound started having burning sensation. To relief myself from this pain, I used ice. After some hours I got big blisters. It hurts a lot. I use Neosporin (antibiotic powder) for quick healing to dry moisture from blisters. Its not working. What should I do?
You have developed an irritant reaction to dettol. I would recommend you to apply topical steroid antibiotic cream like fusidic acid and cortisone cream on the affected area twice daily and take antihistaminic like tablet chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg twice daily for 7 days. This will resolve your problem.
