What Causes Burning Sensation In Abdomen And Back Pain?

I'm Shree from India and this is regarding my father. He has a history of diabetes, stroke and high blood pressure. He had heart attacks twice (one minor and one major) 12 years back. He developed diabetes in the last 8 years and takes insulin injection before meals. Offlate he has been having trouble sleeping and has burning sensation in lower abdomen region. He visited multiple doctors, got various test done without much relief. One of the doctors advised him to remove kidney stones which also didn't provide much comfort. During this period he also had issue with his right eye vision which on MRI was found to be "Found defect in 6th nerve palsy-Known DM and HTN". He is on medication for the same. He has been having lot of trouble lately with the burning sensation and back pain. We've visited multiple doctors but they always say it happens with diabetes without giving any further explanation. Could you please advise how can we go about finding the root cause?

Spine Surgeon 's  Response
Burning sensation is an indication of damaged small nerves, common in long standing diabetes. Back pain is most likely due to age related changes in the spine and that is not related to diabetes. Spine evaluation is required to look for exact cause of back pain. Any problem in the pelvis also can cause the symptoms he has.. and needs proper clinical evaluation.
