What Causes Burning Sensation In Stomach After Taking Doxycycline?

I was recently diagnosed with a sinus infection about a week ago and was prescribed augmintin,which i had an allergic reaction to.Iwas switched meds to doxycycline and am having burning in the stomach with hot fflashes, sometimes numbness of hands and arms occour too. almost like a heart attack. should i be concerned? I have been to the local er twice with no answers

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain you are suffering from allergic reaction to Doxycycline also as the symptoms of burning sensation in stomach, hot flashes, and numbness in hands and feet and other symptoms are due to side effect of doxycycline..
You should consult an Allergist and get evaluated and in case of allergic reaction he/she can advise you to stop the medication and take anti-allergic medicine like Levocetrizine or Benadryl and also do allergic testing like RAST test which is an antigen specific test and it will help in ruling out the exact cause of allergic reaction and will also help you to rule out which antibiotic will not cause any harmful side effects..
So it would be better to consult soon for a proper diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
