HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The burning and numbness is likely due to neuropathy which refers to abnormal function of the nerves.

It can be temporary or permanent.

Some of the causes include: (1) trauma to the nerve. In the case of the arm, the nerve would leave the neck and travel from the shoulder down to the arm.
Anything causing trauma along this path can cause problems eg arthritis of the neck , shoulder etc

(2)abnormal levels of vitamin b6, either low or high levels can cause neuropathy

(3)diabetes

(4)low levels of vitamin b12 or folic acid

(5)liver or kidney disease

(6)side effect of medication

(7)infection such as shingles

(8)neurological conditions such as stroke or ms

(9)thyroid disease

To find out the exact cause, you would need to be assessed by your doctor.

This would include a complete history of symptoms, general and neurological examination along with investigations.
Investigations would include blood tests such as liver and kidney function, diabetes screening, vitamin levels, checking the thyroid , complete blood count.

Treatment would depend on the cause found.

I hope this helps
