Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Burning Sensation In The Left Shoulder Radiating Towards The Arm?
Yes. I have pain and burning radiating from the middle of my shoulder blade across to the left and down under my arm. There is also itching and sometimes it hurts under my rib cage on the left side, almost like a broken rib but I know I have not broken a rib. It has been almost a week.
Any kind of pain that lasts for more than a week should not be ignored. Have you met with an accident recently? It can be due to improper sleeping habits or an unnoticed injury to the area of pain or during exercise. Have you taken any pain relieving medicines? At this moment best advice I can give you is to see a doctor in person because after taking proper history if needed he will run some tests on you and also prescribe you some pain relieving medicines which will help you relax and recover fast.
Knowing the underlying cause is very important before starting any kind of treatment and it is best done by running some diagnostic tests so my advice to you is a consultation with a doctor in person as soon as possible.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar,
General & Family Physician
