What Causes Chest Pain And Shallow Breathing?

I have a pain in the center of my chest, slightly above my breasts but below my collar bone. It's hurts really bad to inhale or exhale deeply, so I am shallow breathing. It also hurts to lower my head (chin to chest), bend over or turn side to side. The pain started last night for no apparent reason, and when I woke up this morning it was still there with no improvement. I took (2) extra strength tylenol this morning with no results. What could be wrong? It almost feels like a muscle, but then other times not.
