Hi, I have multiple cavities on about 3 of my top left teeth in the back of my mouth and they have been infected before, the dentist said I need a few root canals but I couldn't afford it so after i took antibiotics I just left it alone. This was almost 2 months ago, a few days ago the pain came back and so did the bitter taste, after taking ibuprofen for a few days the pain has subsided but the teeth are still sensitive and produce a bitter taste and odor. I'm pretty sure they are infected again but I haven't gone to the dentist now I've had chest pain for 2 days on my left side and also have felt short of breath do you think this is related or just anxiety? Do I need to go to the ER?
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. You are having caries teeth. And this can cause aspiration pneumonia and lung abscess. Both of these can cause chest pain, shortness of breath. So better to consult emergency room (ER) and get done clinical examination of respiratory system, chest x ray. Chest x ray is mist to rule out these conditions. If chest x ray is normal then no need to worry, anxiety is more likely to cause such symptoms in your case. So consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution. You may need anxiolytic drugs too. Don't worry, you will be alright. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
