What Causes Chest Pain And Tinnitus?

I have had several heart and circulation tests in the past week due to some chest pains and and have some chest pains. Cardioligist says heart is no problem. Neck arteries are O K but that I have a minor build up of plaque in a brain artery aqnd recommends that I get on a statin drug. After reading all of the side effects on this web site, I am concerned. I have had years of kidney stones ringing ears, and urinary tract infections. My age is 77 and I have shown loss of memory increasing. Did I get good advice? I am in good physical condition. I take a low dose blood pressure pill and allopurinol for kidney stones.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The memory loss may be one of the early signs of Alzheimer's disease. With increasing age, cerebral atrophy increases along with memory loss. Therefore, continue with the same Rx and if it worsens, then take neuro opinion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
