What Causes Chest Pain While Breathing After A Injury?
I was on a fishing boat and because of the wake in the ocean I was thrust into the steel bar.I didn t say anything to anyone because I didn t want to ruin the trip for everyone. It almost took my breath and it hurt really bad.It did seem to subside but sometimes when I lie down or turn over it still hurts. The accident occurred about a week ago.
The injury seems to have injured the soft tissue below the rib cage or even ribs might be involved. The presence of fracture of rib / ribs may cause a pressure / feeling of penetration, while breathing or movements of body. Thus an X-ray chest is of urgent need to rule out any fracture of a rib, injury to clavicle or sternum etc. However, as a first aid in your case use of a chest binder is advised to immobilize the affected part to relieve the pain and feeling of shortness of breath.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
