Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. About a year ago i started having occasional chest pain. Sometimes on the right side and sometimes on the left. I went to the doctor and I was told that it was nothing to worry about. In the past year I have had this pain come and go but in the past few weeks more often than not I have had atleast a small amount of tightness in my chest, mostly on the left side. When the pain is at its worst breathing in deeply increases the pain. Also while the pain is bad extending out my left arm to grab something can cause a sharp increase in pain momentarily. I have noticed that the pain is typically more intense after smoking marijuana. Do you have any ideas what this could be?
I went through your history provided to us. It seems you are having chest pain which is sudden in onset and sometimes extending to left arm. The common causes are hear diseases like angina, lung diseases like infections of lungs and gastritis related diseases. Chest pain should never be ignored and it should be properly evaluated and treated. Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment depending on the underlying cause.
