What Causes Chest Pains On Exertion?

My 16 year old son has started having chest pains during soccer. We have been to a cardiologist and an asthma specialist and have been told he has a normal heart and lungs we don t know what else to do. He had an EKG and they also looked at his heart with an ultrasound. It doesn t happen every time he plays so we have stopped him from playing until we figure out what is going on.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
welcome to hcm,
nothing to worry much, it is most probably a costochondral pain or muscular pain only. it will resolve by giving mild pain killers.
mostly your chest pain is non cardiac. other causes of your chest pain may be Gastroesophageal reflux disease ,gastritis. etc.
so check if he has an epigastric pain on simple pressure given in the epigastric area. if so treat his gastro intestinal problems.
hope this finds useful.
with regards
