What Causes Chest Redness With Coloration And No Other Symptoms?

Hi Dr. Samuel , I have noticed that my upper chest always seems to be red but not itch or resemble a rash. I am a heavy drinker so was wondering if that would have anything to do with dilating the blood vessels in this area which may cause a red appearance. The spot where there is the red color seems to change when I think about it, touch it or after a hot shower. Do you have any ideas of what could be causing this coloration?

It is impossible to know exactly what is doing on without photographs.

One cause of rough skin on the sides of the nose is seborrheic dermatitis. This can be treated with 1% hydrocortisone cream twice daily. It is best to use this as soon as it starts to reduce the risk of darkening.

Any Dermatologist should be able to help.
