What Causes Choking Feel, Heartburn And Acid Refux?

Hi I have a choking feel, heartburn and acid refux. Not knowing what the choking feeling was, last week I had a EGD done. I found out I have a hiatal hernia and the dr. said it was making my esophagus crooked. He stretched my throat. I have made changes in my life style and diet but I still have the same feeling. what should I do next? Carol
