My son had a problem since birth where he vomited during or after feeds. This did not happen every time, but very often. He is now 2 years Old and has never slept through the night; he wakes crying and sort of choking and is then quite Often sick. He finds this very distressing. He also has, and has always had, huge difficulty in swallowing solids. He is stuck on a very soft diet; soft fluffy scrambled egg on soft bread, spaghetti in sauce and yoghurts. Any other food he has is pureed. The reason for this is that after swallowing he chokes; something gets stuck In his throat and he will Choke until he vomits excessively. This happens everytime if we give him Something bulky or slightly hard. he dribbles a lot too. And seems to choke during the day, on nothing, which then leads to vomiting. His sister, 13 weeks old, has just been diagnosed with tetralogy of fallot. She also has aberrant right subclavian artery off a right sided aortic arch. Her symptoms of this are difficulty in swallowing and she chokes. Could My son possibly have an aberrant subclavian artery?? Unilateral now his Problem has been diagnosed as reflux but all the anti reflux Meds have failed to work. And I as his Mum, have always said it seems more than reflux.
