It might be possible that
trazodone is responsible for recent onset
constipation. But this can be managed with diet. With time, it will resolve.
Advice
1. Continue trazodone and other medicines as suggested. Do not later dose or stop any of these medicines unless suggested by your doctor
2. Take high fiber diet such as split peas, lentils, black beans, lima beans, baked beans, whole grains, vegetables such as artichoke, green peas, and sprouts and fruits
3. Syrup
lactulose (Syrup
Duphalac) 2 teaspoonful per oral at bed time
4. Drink 4 – 5 liters of water daily
5. Avoid straining while defecating
6. Start workout in gym at least for half an hour for 4 – 5 days in a week regularly
7. Chew the food properly to make it easily digestible
8. Regularly go to toilet. Never avoid if you feel pressure
9. Avoid excess intake tea and coffee after meal
