What Causes Chronic Cough And Clear Nasal Drainage?

I have had a cough bad with clear mucus and draining nose for about six weeks I have been treated for broncotis and allergy season .coughing so bad I went to the emergency room got a chest X-ray came back clear ., stillcoughing don t know what to do next

Thank you for posting at HCM.

Cough for 6 weeks a serious condition and indicates probable chest infection. We direct such patients for immediate sputum examination, Montoux test, Repeat Chest XRay, CBC, CRP.

To relieve the symptoms, your doctor may prescribe you following medications
Tab Allegra 1-0-1 x 5 days ( causes drowsiness, don't go outside after 1 hrs of taking this medicine)
Tab Volkmox CV 1-0-1 x 6 days
Syp Ambrovolk A 5ml-5ml-5ml x 6 days
Otrivin Nasal drops 4drops-4-4-4 x 3 days

Above should resolve the normal bronchitis, if not,you must get yourself tested. Please note above are not self medications, so you may require a prescription to use them, and you are requested to not reload the doses without expert doctor opinion.
