What Causes Chronic Diarrhea Along With Nausea And Vomiting?

Hi I took the salt water flush Monday of last week and had pure water extreme diarrhea about 30 to 45 minutes later as expected then Saturday afternoon I felt extremely nauseated and threw up everything I ate till I had nothing left and still felt sick like Saturday all through Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday I woke up this morning better but now I m sick my body aches and I feel nauseated I have a cough and my nose is clogged and my chest hurts and Saturday, sunday, Monday and Tuesday my stomach was really hard and felt like it was filled up with air and all through out the week last week I was clogged up and constipated but anyways I felt very bad basically these past two weeks after this flush

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of chronic diarrhea along with nausea and vomiting which is due to food poisoning, bacterial and parasitic infections and due to electrolyte imbalance in body. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take proper rest. Avoid too much oily food and give him rice banana and bread toasts . High fever in case of vomiting with diarrhea is matter of concern. So you should visit gastroenterologist once if symptoms do not subside . For now you can give him loperamide for frequent stools and paracetamol for fever. Most of the time it will go away by its own in 3-5 days if we manage it properly. Major complication of diarrhea is dehydration, you should rehydrate yourself with time to time .Oral rehydration solution is best for this.
