Hello,

You are experiencing chronic headache behind the eyes since a year and a half. There are many factors that may cause chronic headache behind the eyes like eye strain, stress, weather as it causes changes in humidity and temperature, caffeinated drinks, etc. You are suggested to avoid any extremes of temperature and humidity, avoid stress and give rest to your eyes between work. Avoid getting dehydrated, do not skip meals, stay away from addictions if any.

Avoid oily, spicy food and scented food. Also avoid strong smells, fumes, etc. Headache behind the eyes is indicative of tension headache, cluster headache, sinus headache or sometimes, migraine. You are suggested to get your eyes examined by an Eye specialist, you may need vision correction with a pair of glasses. Get clinically examined by a GP, get required tests & investigations done to detect pathology causing you symptoms. You will be accordingly treated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
