Chronic pain can be an outcome of surgeries, and even more common in major surgeries. It is important to know when the surgery was and what does chronic mean in this case. A rule of thumb, when the pain is longer than 12 months it is chronic. Pain can subside after surgery, but controlling pain is crucial for surgery success on the long term. Please refer to your surgeon and ask for pain control medications.
Thank you.
