What Causes Chronic Pain Post An Inguinal Hernia Repair Surgery?
hello I just had an inguinal hernia repair about 8 weeks ago and I m still in lots of pain , I went to see the doctor and one told me that it can be nerve damage but when I went back they told me it was nothing that that was normal . my question to you is nerve damage fixable I have hard time walking at times
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. If it is nerve damage then there is no way to fix it. It usually takes time (6 months) to heal damage nerves. But better to get done ultrasound examination of abdomen to rule out surgical complications (Hematoma formation, subacute obstruction). Post hernia surgery, these complications can cause similar kind of pain. If ultrasound is normal then no need to worry much. You can apply warm water pad and ice packs alternatively. Don't worry, you will be alright. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
