Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I suffered from pain in my left foot for the past four years. I m living in the gulf and the pain starts every summer. It happens after sitting for a while or early in the morning when I get out of bed. I did a bit of research and found out that it might be plantar fasciitis. Using proper footwear with good support helped decrease the intensity of the pain and so did voltarene retard 100. I m a bit worried though about its side effects. I ve taken four tablets so far, one every 48 hours. Should I take it daily and for how long because I noticed once it wears off after 24 hours, the pain starts again. By the way I m taking Lipitor 20 mg and ezetrol 10 mg.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Boltat in being diclophenac sodium helps the pain for a long time e with retard preparation. It is not advisable to continue it for a long time considering its side effects like precipitated stroke. In case you are not allergic to medicine short course (few days) can be taken to control the pain with palliative measures OR measures like physiotherapy (for planter fasciaitis).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
