What Causes Chronic Tailbone Pain Along With Lump In Between The Buttocks?

I have bad pain in my tailbone and I can feel a tender bump right between my butt cheeks at the top. I had sex Monday and bumped into my couch after and pain has been there ever since. Very hard to sleep except on my side. It feels a lot better after 800mg of ibuprofen. Just bruised or could it be broken?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that pain in tailbone along with a bump right at the centre of butt cheeks at the top seems to be most probably due to formation of Pilonidal cyst or Pilonidal Abscess and it can occur due to causes like traumatic injury to tailbone area, ingrown hairs, infection in the area etc..
I would suggest you to consult a Proctologist or a General Surgeon and get evaluated and a clinical examination is generally sufficient and if required x ray can also be advised..
In case of Pilonidal abscess you can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and cool compresses over the area..
You can also be advised Incision and Drainage in case of abscess and Marsupialization or Enucleation in case of Cyst..
