What Causes Chronic Vertigo On Change In Position Of Head?

I m a 62-year-old male. For the past several months, six maybe, I ve had minor but chronic light-headedness or dizziness (is there a difference?). I notice this when I sit up, lie down or suddenly change my head elevation. It doesn t seem to occur when my head is stationary. My overall health is pretty good, although I do have longstanding environmental allergies. I recently had a physical and my doctor (new to me) didn t seem overly concerned but wasn t particularly enlightening either. So I guess I m seeking the online equivalent of a second opinion, which I realize isn t like getting an actual second opinion

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that it may be related to BPPV ( benign paroxysmal positional vertigo).

This refers to vertigo/dizziness that occurs with certain positions. It generally lasts a few seconds.
You doctor can diagnose this by performing certain maneuvers.

It is treated by the epley maneuver.

I hope this helps
