Wet cough signifies the hyperactivity of the breathing tubes inner lining that is bronchial mucosa. There are two main causes - first the allergic response of the mucosa and second is the infection in the respiratory tract. The first thing is to go for a chest X-ray, then blood tests should be carried out including complete blood count, CRP, ELISA for tuberculosis etc. Finally the sputum should be sent for cytology and bacteriology examination. I think by doing this, your problem can be solved. Hope for a speedy recovery.
