What Causes Clicking Sound In Throat After Swallowing Saliva?

Whenever I have extra saliva; chewing gum, hard candy, upon awakening in morning, when still lying flat in bed, after swallowing extra saliva, my throat makes an air type noise immediately, fairly loud, almost like gurgle. No pain, no trouble swallowing. I am 58 years old and this never happened until now. Thank you.
