What Causes Cloudy And Foul Smelling Urine?
I am a 71 year-old white female who has been in good health until certain symptoms have begun showing up such as pain in the knees, hips, back, hands, ball of the feet. Also, I have been diagnosed with high cholesterol/triglycerides (even though I have been off of statins for 1 year due to high liver enzymes). For about a year now I have noticed that my urine is cloudy and that there is a slight odor as well. On Jan. 31 of this year I had my urine checked and my doctor said it was normal. What kind of further testing would be warranted?

To give perfect opinion I would like to know few more things from you such as whether you are having fever, diifiulty in micturition , or burning micturition, abdominal pain etc
The signs narrated by you point towards the urinary tract infection.
It is advisible to go for the urine routine & microsopic examination as well as urine for culture & sensitivity examination acoording to whcih tratment can be planned.
But urine culture & sensitivity takes around 3 days for reports untill the reports would come you can start with the following medications
Syrup potassium citrate 2 TSf in 1 glass of water two to three times a day if there is burning micturition
Tab nitrofurantoin 100 mg two times a day after food
Alon with antacid such as cap omeprazole 20 mg two times a day before food for theree days unrtill reports come.
