What Causes Cloudy Vision With Heavy Floaters Post Cataract Surgery?
Hi, My name is Mark. I am a 55 year old male. I am overall healthy. Don t smoke, drink alcohol or take any form of drugs. I eat well and walk (excercise) about 7 miles a day. Good heart and blood pressure. I started wearing glasses in the 5th grade and have worn them until I recently had cataract surgery and had the lenses replaced in my eyes. My vision is now 20/20. The issue is I have - cloudy vision - intense glare - heavy floaters I started noticing my vision getting more & more cloudy to foggy about 3 years ago. It has gotten progressively worse and worse. That was the reason my ophthalmologist recommended cataract surgery. The surgery did NOT correct or take away the cloudiness . I have also had an MRI of the brain which showed nothing wrong. I was also tested for diabetes. My sugar is normal. I have been to 7 - Optometrists - Opthamologists - Low Vision Specialits - Neurologists And Not one of them can tell me what s wrong. Can you help me? Mark Hughes 22 Norman Road Binghamton, NY 13901 (607) 761-3310 YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
All of your symptoms seem to be due to degenerative changes influence of eye... that is cataract (which has been tackled)along with/retina detachment or virtuous hummer detachment in the posterior chamber of eye Having no other causing disease... this seems to be. Due to age, & coming up with long-standing vision problems. Treatment is decidedly Retina expert.. mostly surgical.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
