Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The most common cause of congenital central hypo-ventilation syndrome is change or changes in part of the genetic material inside cells of the body. The most serious effect of these changes is decreased depth of breathing during sleep. Heart and blood pressure can also be effected. Most changes of the genetic material occur spontaneously without another family member having CCHS. A small percent of children with CCHS inherit this condition from a parent.
Hope I have answered your query.
