Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of years of
belching irrespective of empty stomach or not, it builds up, from the time you get up in the morning till you go to bed, EGD was normal. There is no belching if you take analgesics,
steroids or antihistamine.
The most probable reasons of these are:
Aerophagia means inadvertent swallowing of air, happens the moment you get up and is usually associated with your psychological set up, stress and
anxiety. That is why the trouble is from morning till you sleep.
The medications may help in some way that is difficult to explain. No belching if you take steroid and antihistamine may be an indication of some allergic phenomenon, but the upper GI
endoscopy should have explored and shown that.
Since
Antacid and
charcoal has not helped you, again strengthen the stress and anxiety as the cause.
Hence I would advise you in such a situation the following:
Keep away from stress and/or anxiety at any cost.
Avoid the foods and beverages that are known to instigate or enhance the belching problems.
No aerated drinks.
If these measures work well, you do not need any treatment as such.
You may ask your Doctor for the medication if the stress and anxiety are not getting controlled.
