Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had vertigo like symptoms for a whole week. Seems to be a little better in the morning. By late afternoon I just want to sleep. Been to primary care physician once. No help there except for meclazine which just makes me sleep. Been twice to chiropractor. Neck was out just a little bit. I have also noticed that my hot flashes have felt like they were on steroids. Took temp 4 different times, couldn t get temp high enough to normal. About a whole degree or more less. Tired of my head feeling like it is moving all the time!
Vertigo is a symptom, rather than a condition itself and treatment depends on the right cause. You should see your GP, if you have persistent signs of vertigo or it may keep coming back.
Causes of vertigo may include: benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, migraines – severe headaches, labyrinthitis – an inner ear infection. Medicines, such as Prochlorperazine and some antihistamines, can help in the early stages or most cases of vertigo.
Also, we recommend: do simple exercises to correct your symptoms, sleep with your head slightly raised on two or more pillows, avoid bending down to pick up items, avoid extending your neck – for example, while reaching up to a high shelf.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein,
General Surgeon
