Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good morning!!! My Father s age is 67 and he has undergone angioplasty for 2nd time. Earlier angioplasty had been done on 2008 with two stents. This time again there are two blockages and again two stents have been installed. But post angioplasty he is suffering from constipation. Alopathic and homeopathic medicines have been tried but there is no such improvement. Ultimately enema have been done. I want to ask that is enema safe for such kind of patient. He is having BP and diabetes problem as well. What could be the best prescription for this problem.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, constipation is not the disease unless it is being proved else this is the condition and in your father also it may be the condition and this may not need any medication but this can be managed with conservative line of treatment, like encourage him for drinking water, fibber containing diet, regular habit of defecation even in absence need, ask him to go in and sit there for a while no need to apply any force does not matter if stool is not pass, at the most "Isabgol" can be tried, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
