What Causes Cough Along With Nasal Congestion And Laryngitis?
I am wondering if I should see my doctor or wait a couple more days. I have had cold symptoms for about a week...cough, nasal congestion, laryngitis. No difficulty taking deep breath. No temperature. I assume it is viral and I should wait it out but don't want to wait too long! Thank you.Angela
As per your query you are suffering from symptoms like cough , nasal congestion and laryngitis . The symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards a condition known as upper respiratory track infection like sore throat or pharyngitis . Sometimes when infection is left untreated then it will spread to surroundings and may infect larynx . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without any delay so that infection can not spread to entire respiratory track . Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test , blood test and CT scan to rule out condition like acidic reflux and sinusitis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin or antiviral like acyclovir for at least a week . For now do warm saline gargles and take steam twice a day to relieve the congestion.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
