What Causes Cough Post A Pacemaker Insertion?
My son, age 52, recently had a pacemaker inserted. It has been 2 mths. and he now has a cough. He did have a fever, and felt he needed an antibiotic, just 2 wks. ago, however his cough persists. Is there any chance it is related to the pacer. Should we be concerned?

Hello,
It is unrelated to the pacemaker.
Most probably it will be an allergic cough.
As a first line management you can take antihistamines like cetirizine for symptomatic relief.
Expectorant cough syrups can also be tried.
If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.
Detailed evaluation is required including an X-ray.
