Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Cramps In The Hands And Feet While Suffering From Hypothyroidism?
I m 48 year old female and have hypo thyroid & type 2 diabetes which is under control & I even have problem of protein leakage in urine, I did my urine test on 20/3/17 and my urine albumin/creatinine ratio is 19.21, whereas in nov 16 it was just 7. Recently I started getting cramps in my hands & feet and even used to feel nausea & feverish. So doctor has prescribed tayo 60k once a week for 10 weeks saying that since reports are normal it could be due to some vitamin deficiency. So I just want to know is tayo k safe to take in my case because I read on the net and it s saying that special precautions should be taken in case of renal disease. So please advice.
i would advice you not to worry as Albumin/creatinin ratio below 30 is normal, which means your kidneys are functioning within normal normal range, so you can safely take Tayo K. I believe even your doctor must have considered this corelation into consideration before prescribing Tayo K The cramps in hanads and feet might be because of Vit D and calcium definciency, which may be secondsry to your hypothyroidism. Hope this answers your query, thank you.
