What Causes Cystic Nodular Acne Near The Nose?

I have cystic nodular acne near my nose, my doctor prescribe me doxycycline antibiotic to take for 3 months. I m scared to take it because of side effects I might get and purging stage. I m depressed of what I have right now but it will scare me more if it get worse when I take doxycycline. Can you help me.

Nodular acne is a slightly advanced form of acne, the cystic swellings develops due to collection of pus and debris underneath your skin pores.
Doxycycline and minocycline are very effective for nodular acne. Side effects are very minimal, you might have gastritis after taking doxycyline, you can avoid it by taking antacids like ranitidine along with doxycycline.
You can try the following after consulting a dermatologist:-
(1)- Benzyl peroxide face wash.
(2)- Doxycycline or minocycline orally as a single daily dose.
(3)- Clindamycin face gel in severe cases.
(4)- Apply steam to your face frequently.
(5)- Do not pinch or squeeze the nodule.
(6)- Drink plenty of water and avoid oily food.
(7)- Have a healthy diet rich in fruits and vegetables, the antioxidants in fruits improve health of your skin.
