MY son was recently in a car accident and had numerous broken bones in his right arm. They gave him medication that he took before to get off opiods and Xanax and the day before he started high blood pressure medication. They discharged him from the hospital with surgery scheduled 4 days later. That night I checked on him because we put him to sleep in an upright position on a recliner because of the severe pain he couldn't lay down. I checked on him during the night--he was snoring VERY loudly and when my husband went to check on him 2 hrs later he was deceased. We went by his wishes and had him creamated and now I am not sure I did the right thing. Everyone is telling me it was probably a blood clot. Please help me get over this guilt thank you chris. Hes had probably 5 operations over the past few years and went to the Dr.s recently for his knee. They told him to deal w/the pain because he was too young for a knee replacement and gave him shots. That is how he became addicted to pain killers in the first place
