What Causes Decrease In Seizures After Having A Child Birth?
I have had grand mal seizures since I was 15. Last year I became pregnant and quit taking my meds for fear of the meds hurting my child. I did not have any seizures for the entire pregnancy. I normally have one a week without meds. My son was born perfect and still did not have any seizures till he was about 2 months old. I fell in the tub while he was sleeping. I am fine. I only take the meds about once every three weeks when I should take them every day. He is 7 months old now and I am still seizure free. Can you explain to me why this is? Did the pregnancy change something?
Regarding your concern, you should know that hormonal changes may have some influence in seizures.
Anyway, if you fell in the tub, it seems like you had a seizure. Coming to this point, I would recommend taking regularly your anti-epilepsy drugs. You should knot that taking them irregularly, is very wrong and imposes you at a high risk for seizures.
