What Causes Delay In Periods After Started Exercising?
hi, I have a menstrual cycle of 31 days and till last month my periods are regular. This month my period are delayed by 7 days and I haven't got yet. There was some changes in my routine that I started exercise for 50 min daily. last day I ate papaya to have my periods back. How long should I wait?
Hi. I've gone through your query and I can understand your anxiety.
Exercise induced amenorrhea is commonly seen in athletes, due to intense training and sudden weight loss they undergo.
As you started exercising newly, chances of missing your periods still there due to the changes in regular body metabolism.
I advice you to avoid vigorous exercises. Do in. moderation ( not in both extremes) that, could help in bringing back the regular menstrual cycle by restoring the hormonal & metabolic disturbances if any.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.
Regards, Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
