What Causes Delay In Periods And When Is The Fertile Period In Irregular Periods ?
my periods was due on 3rd march. but it lagged and today my periods came. i m married. 4months before also i had a delay in periods for 2weeks from the date it was due. my periods cycle normally is 30 days. now we r trying 4 a baby. i would like to know my fertile days now and when is my ovulation so that i can increse chance of pregnancy next month. is there anything i have to do coz of this delay happened in periods?

Please let me know your age. Increased level of stress coupled with increasing age leads to imbalance between the hormones responsible for ovulation. In general terms, ovulation occurs 14 days before menstrual bleeding. so 16 days from today will be the day you ovulate and 2 days before and after this date is the period your fertility will be the maximum. that is from 1/4/2011 to 5/4/2011 is your fertile period provided that your periods may not deviate from the mean. in a 28 day cycle ovulation occurs 14 days before the next period. if your cycles are a lillte irregular then the date of ovulation can be seen on ultrasonography . you have been married for just 4 months so there is nothing much to worry about since it takes 1 ear for an average normal couple to conceive normally. also if you want to know when you are ovulating in your 30 day cycle you can go in for a follicular study and that will tell u of your fertile period. if you do not want to visit a gynaecologist so soon u can start keep your daily temperature with a thermometer . read the instructions carefully on that (it is different from a routine temperature thermometer). that will also tell you your fertile period though not as accurate as a ultrasonography follicular study. mean while keep taking a single tablet of folic acid daily.
