What Causes Delay In Periods Despite Taking Contraceptive Pills?
I took 2 pregnancy test(the home kit) on 11th and 13th of may and it came back clear negative. I had my periods from 31st march to 3rd april. I took a contraceptive pill on 5th of april. Its 21st may and i am still not getting periods. What should i do to get them?
No any contraceptive gives 100% protection. So in case of delayed period, I would suggest you to do urine pregnancy test. This should be confirmed with obstetric ultrasound and beta hcg levels after gynaecologist consultation. Further treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
