What Causes Delay In Periods When On Birth Control Pills?
Hi. I've been using birth control pills for more than 2 years now. Ever since I used it, I ALWAYS get my period on the 4th pill-free day. Today's my 5th pill-free day and I'm starting to get worried if I'm pregnant. I always take the pill everyday. What could go wrong? Please help.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
If you have taken pills very regularly, there will not be any chance for conception. One day late can be due to other causes like psychological or physical stress. Your period would come within 8 days of taking the last active pill. Relax till then.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
