What Causes Delayed Menstruation After An Abortion?
Hi. I had a surgical abortion last sept 15 the i had my first period back oct 22 but now that i have been waiting for my 2nd period (nov 21) and it never came. I am now 4 days late. What should I do? I don t want to be pregnant again. Is this normal after an abortion? I would be grateful if i can get answers. Thank you
As a physician, I would like to tell you that after your first abortion, if you had safe sexual intercourse while using contraception methods, you have nothing to worry about. I would also like to tell you that if you had any unprotected sexual contact after your fist period on 22 October, you should visit your Obgy doctor and get evaluated to rule out the pregnancy or any other causes delaying your menstruation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Abhijeet
