What Causes Delayed Menstruation While On Implanon?

Hi my implanon was due to be out Yesterday june 4th but my OB/GYN said i would be fine to leave it in and use as a normal form of BC until june 19th the day i am suppose to get my tubes tied. My question is I have had a period from day one with Implanon and for the last 6 months have started my period on the 30th or 1st of every month but here it is the 5th and still no period or any symtoms i normally get when i start. Ive taken a home test and it was negative. Should i be worried or am i freaking out because i know im done and dont want anything to happen before now and then?

Hello,

Implanon best works for three years, after that it should be removed and replaced with a new implanon. However, if the implanon has not been removed, extra precaution should be taken and condoms or the progestogen-only pill should be used in addiction. You are suggested to get a repeat pregnancy test done after waiting for a couple of days. Get clinically examined by a gynecologist to detect ectopic pregnancy.

You may be suggested to get few blood tests and USG (uterus and fallopian tubes) done. Medical conditions that may cause delayed menstruation when not pregnant are hormonal imbalance, anemia, thyroid issues, poor general health condition, PCOS, etc. Get treated at the earliest. Avoid addictions if any.
