Hi ! I m 35 years old and the last October 2014 I decided to use the depo proverbs (wrong choice made me feel horrible ) so I just got one shoot . The question here , I haven t get my period for a year , I already went to the doctor I m not pregnant, no thyroid problem, my hormones look good .. so? Why I still don t have my period ? Thanks

Hi, Thanks for the query on Health care magic platform. I understand your concern. Depo provera is a long acting injectable contraceptive.. & is known to produce menstrual irregularities/ absence of periods while it avoids conception.It is also known to take 6- 18 months for normalizing menstrual cycle after withdrawal of the injection. I would advise you to get investigated to exclude other causes for amenorrhea ( USG abdomen- for PCOD/ Ovarian cyst, uterine fibroid ) & if every thing is normal wait patiently for few more months for periods to return.
