What Causes Delayed Periods After Taking Contraceptives?

HI USED CONTRACEPTIVES WHEN I WAS IN INDIA. hOWEVER AFTER LANDING IN US SINCE SEPTEMBER I AM NOT HAVING PERIODS. ITS GOING O BE 5 AND A HALF MONTHS ALMOST . I AM NOT PREGNANT. I AM OBESE PATIENT. RECENTLY I HAVE SEEN SOME SWOLLEN MUSCLES OR NERVES NOT SURE NEAR MY LOWER ABDOMEN CAUSING PAIN. WHAT MEDICATION DO U SUGGEST I MAY GO FOR TO HAVE NORMAL PERIODS AND TO GET CURED FROM THIS SWOLLEN PAIN AT LOWER ABDOMENB

Thank you for writing in HMC,
since you are sure you aren't pregnant you 'll have to get a work up done on your amennorhea. what contraceptives did you use and were your periods regular prior to that.? you must get an ultrasound done recent weight gain and obesity PCOD has to be ruled out . also if any history of fever or chronic low back ache and pain lower abdomen ,PID(pelvic inflammatory disease ) has to be checked for.your age, any other significant history has to be mentioned do get an appointment with a gynecologist.
