What Causes Delayed Periods Along With Heavy Vaginal Bleeding And Abdominal Cramps?
Could I be pregnant or have had an early miscarriage? I am sexually active and we are not using any contraception. I had my last period on October 18th. My period averages from 32-33 days. I expected my period to come on the 18th of November but It didn t come. I became 8 days late and during those eight days I was having increased discharge, nausea and lower back pain. I was also peeing more frequently. I took a home pregnancy test and it was negative. On the 9th day the back pains grew a bit stronger and I started cramping. I went to use the bathroom and when I wiped I had pink/brown blood on the tissue. I put on a panty liner just in case It started to get heavy. During the day it got slightly heavy so I put on a pad. The next day I tried to put in a tampon. When I went to go take the tampon out, it was painful. When I got it out there was only brown blood on the tip on the tampon. Nothing else. So I put on another panty liner.. My normal period is nothing like this. I always start off heavy my first two days and it becomes light as it comes to an end. It usually lasts 7 days. I have still been having on and off lower back pains and nausea. Should I take the test again just in case I tested too early the first time? What if its still negative? Could this be a change in my period or an early miscarriage? Im just so confused and worried.
There are many medical conditions that may cause abnormal uterine bleeding. With negative pregnancy tests, causes linked to pregnancy can be eliminated.Other possible causes of your symptoms at your age could be:
-Premenopause
-Hormonal imbalances
-Medical conditions such as uterine masses(fibroids, cancer)
-Infectious causes though rare given your description of symptoms.
I will advise you see a Gynecologist for examination and work-ups.A pelvic ultrasound will be a very important test to evaluate your symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
