Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Diarrhea Along With Nausea And Vomiting?
I have been having periods of upset stomach then diarrhea and nausea with a small amount of vomiting. This started several months ago. It happened twice that I had nausea only, no vomiting and no real diarrhea. Then last week I had 2 episodes with vomiting a small amount and then again today.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of diarrhea along with nausea and vomiting which seems to be due to disturbance of electrolytic balance of body due to parasitic infection or inflammatory bowel disease.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may order stool test to find out exact cause and prescribe antibiotics like ornidazole , albendazole along with loperamide. You should not lay down immediately after having food. Drink plenty of fluids. You should take small quantity of food and avoid large intake at a single time. You should eat light and non spicy , eat fresh fruits and vegetables and eat fruits like banana. Take oral rehydrating solution as well.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
