My 8th month old daughter, Shakirah Ariana, is diagnosed with heterotaxy syndrome - right atrial isomerism. She is also asplenia. She has had a BT Shunt surgery when she was 2 months old. She has been thriving since the said surgery. Her pediatric cardiologist who carried out her last echo reading (1 month ago) confirms her single ventricle is functioning well and that her shunt is flowing well. Dr said Ariana should be ready for her next palliative surgery - glenn shunt in 6 months times.
However today, for reasons i cannot understand, she has pass motions 5 times in a day (FYI, it is not loose motion though). This no of time of passing motion is not her norm - her norm is 3 times a day. she also has a fever of 37.5 Celsius. her temp is normally ranges between 35.7 to 36. Ariana also turned blue on her left side for few minutes. After number of knee-chest presses, she turned pink again.
at this point of time, i am making an assumption her fever is due to normal baby stuff and not heart related ...ie i think it is due to her teething.
Question is which the above mentioned symptoms, is there a need for me to be really concern and to bring Ariana to her peds card for a medical review.
