What Causes Diarrhea, Nausea And Nasal Congestion While On Nucynta?

I was on 90 mg methadone for two years and then Dr. left all patients high and dry. Rheumatologist put me on Nucynta 200mg twice a day and it is horrible im constantly on the edge of withdrawal sweats,chills, nausea, uncontrolled running nose and when it gets real bad uncontrolled snezzing as many as 30 times in a row,diarhea on and on. they refered me fto a pain dr and he never asked about meds said I need physical rehab which would get a lot worse before better. I have psoriatic arth and lumbar problems with L3,4,5

Welcome to HCM,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are suffering from symptoms like diarrhea, nausea and nasal congestion while on Nucynta . The symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards a condition known as upper respiratory track infection like sore throat or pharyngitis . Sometimes when infection is left untreated then it will spread to surroundings and may infect larynx . Apply warm compresses om back and neck. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without any delay so that infection can not spread to entire respiratory track . Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test , blood test and CT scan to rule out condition like acidic reflux and sinusitis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin or antiviral like acyclovir for at least a week . For now do warm saline gargles . Doctor may also recommend deep breathing exercises . Taking steam will help alot .
