What Causes Diarrhea While On Ciprofloxacin For Flu?
today I saw the dr . I went because I thought I had flu. all the symtoms. he also did a urine test. I was given ,metronidazole500 3 DAILY . ALSO CIPROFLOXACIN 500TAB 2 times a day. I am curious he really didn t say what I had. also a drug to help my loose stools. can you help me?
I would say I'm quite confused with your complaints. The urine test would be for eliminating any urinarybtravt infection or to see if you have any glucose, white or red blood cells present in urine. Next your diarrhea might be due to over use of antibiotics. using Metronidazole and Ciprofloxacin might have decreased the normal beneficial micro organisms in your intestine. This in turn manifests as diarrhea.
I would suggest that you reevaluate with your physician again to rule out antibiotic associated diarrhea and also you can try consuming curd and other dairy products enriched with bifido bacteria's that can restore the normal flora of the intestine. There are also probiotics available such as biphilac which can again do the same.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Manoj Pradeep
